Located on the south side of Bellefontaine, Blue Jacket Park is directly adjacent to Bellefontaine High School. The park is named after former Shawnee Indian Chief Marmaduke "Blue Jacket" Van Swearingen, who settled in present day Bellefontaine in the 1770's.
Blue Jacket Park has 24 open acres and is home to the Bellefontaine High School baseball and softball fields, four Tennis courts, soccer and football practice fields.
Additional amenities found in the park include a 7/8 mile walking track, public restrooms, horse shoe pits, skate park, playground areas, and two shelter houses that are available for daily rent.
