The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Bellefontaine is known as the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District. The Joint Recreation District was formed in 1984. Our department maintains 159 acres of Park Land in the City and 450 acres at the Myeerah Nature Preserve. We also provide recreational opportunities for the Citizens living within the Bellefontaine City School District.

The current regular meeting time for the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District Board of Trustees is the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Bellefontaine City Council Meeting Room. Currently the board is meeting virtually during the COVID Pandemic. The meetings can be viewed via the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District YouTube page. The link for each meeting is made available via www.bellefontaineparks.com 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. Anyone wishing to communicate with the board may submit correspondence via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on the day of the board meeting.
